Now days most of us regardless men or women spending most of their time or life at workplace. Whether our workplace can be called as 'heaven' or 'hell' it depends on us, co-worker and the situation..the brutal truth is that there is no best way to avoid or prevent office politics from happening, simply because of the different personalities at the workplace. These tips I got them while I was flipping over an international magazine and why not I put it in the blog since most of my best friends are career people, women especially..ya..its good to share with..

1. STAY AWAY FROM GOSSIP
Damaging gossip is unwelcome and yet prevalent in almost every office. Be mindful that when we participate in gossip, we run the risk of damaging our credibility. Credibility is the one thing that we should strive to protect at all time..
Remember, on the other hand if you have the reputation of being the office gossip, your superior will think twice about allowing you to lead a new project or to recommend you for a promotion.
Be reminded, stay away from people and places where gossip is most likely to arise, such as pantry or water cooler area. If happen you were there try to change the 'conversation' in a polite manner or just walk away if its still persist. Your colleagues will respect you for the stand you are making.
2. KEEP COOL

Getting emotional is one of the all-too-common mistakes people make at work. No one will offer or entrust someone labelled as "emotional" with an important task.
When you disagree on something or confronted with something negative, state the facts and NEVER RAISE YOUR VOICE or show your emotional side. Why not start develop a GOOD POKER FACE - that will drive the office bully crazy.
Find a diplomatic way to resolve problem instead. Learn to calmly respond to stressful situations. This is a skill to be mastered even by senior mgt executives.
Try avenues like yoga, meditation (solah for moslem) or simply walking away..take a deep breath and manage your anger. Your mind and body will thank you for it.
3. BE POSITIVE
A positive attitude breeds productivity. No one is perfect at work, not even the CEO. so learn to accept your imperfections. When you committed with mistakes, admit them and where necessary, apologize to but make it point NEVER to REPEAT them.Instead turn your weakness into strategies for success by learning from your mistakes and showing improvement in the next assignment.
Even when everything is negative in a situation. Take the high road and stay SOLUTION-ORIENTATED, rather dwelling on the negatives of the situation and going nowhere, think of ways to move forward and solve the problem.
Be ever-ready to offer suggestion to improve situations when required.
4. NEVER COMPROMISE ON YOUR INTEGRITY

Integrity is a much valued trait in the workplace. People can spot someone with integrity a mile away and are naturally attracted to the qualities that such a person possesses.
Never sell yourself short to get where you want to be. Instead
-Improve your work ethics
-Be productive.
If you do your job well, no one will confront and find reason to say negative things about you.
-do your work with dedication and interest.
-be punctual and observe company's rules and regulations
-improve your knowledge and professionalism
by reading about current research findings in your area of expertise.
Wherever is possible go the extra mile and do more than expected.
IT IS A MISCONCEPTION that your loyal hard work for the company is fruitless in the absence of your job incentive or rewards.
Good superior appreciates hard working employees, even if they don't say it..!!
5.STAY OBJECTIVE

A successful worker is an objective one. DO NOT BRING PERSONAL PROBLEMs to workplace or take your anger out on co-workers. Seek professional help or talk to someone.
Venting your frustration at workplace is highly unprofessional and will not only make u unpopular but also the topic of 'Gossip'.
Always remind yourself to never take things personally even if the outcome is undesirable.
With all that said, work can be fulfilling and enjoyable. Given time, you'll learn to adapt well and navigate your way through the invisible minefield that is the workplace..
